Bio

Kenisha Kelly has designed costumes for theatre, dance and film. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a concentration in Fashion Design and Video Production. While attaining her degree, she studied abroad in Florence, Italy where she focused on various fashion design and construction techniques. After receiving her BFA she worked as a costume designer for independent film and theatre.

Kenisha received her MFA with an emphasis on Costume Design and Technology from the University of Houston. During her residence in Texas, Ms. Kelly worked for companies such as the Houston Ballet Company and the Houston Grand Opera. She also designed for both theater and dance and created costumes for a number of Houston venues, including the Miller Outdoor Theatre and the Big Range Dance Festival. Her most recent credits include designing productions for Lehigh University, the Portland Stage Company and the One Year Lease theatre company in NYC. Ms. Kelly presently holds the position of Lecturer of Costume Design at Vassar College.
